Ensovi is revolutionizing sustainable drug manufacturing by recycling cofactors - the essential energy source for cell-free (enzymatic) reactions. Cell-free (enzyme-based) biosynthesis technology is advancing rapidly and offers a lower cost, more secure and sustainable alternative to traditional drug production methods. However, COFACTORS – the essential energy source for enzymatic reactions – are prohibitively expensive hindering mass adoption of this otherwise advantaged method. Ensovi has developed a breakthrough cofactor recycling platform that promises to cut cofactor costs and associated CO2 emissions by 75 to 95%. Our patented photocatalytic regeneration technology is a bolt-on, modular, scalable design suitable for continuous and batch cell-free systems using cell lysate or immobilized enzyme cascades, and supports multiple energy cofactors.
