GeoFuels is a development company, formed to leverage the baseload renewable power from sedimentary geothermal projects developed by GT Titan, an affiliated company. In many cases, the geothermal brines brought to the surface to generate power also contain associated methane. This methane can be separated and used on-site to produce hydrogen competitively through methane pyrolysis, a process that thermally splits methane into hydrogen, and a solid carbon co-product. The associated methane can be supplemented by market purchases to ensure full production. The solid carbon co-product will be further processed into graphite, a critical mineral, which enhances the project economics. GeoFuels has a novel approach to hydrogen production, utilizing baseload geothermal power and methane pyrolysis. Where it can be applied, the economics of this approach surpass other hydrogen production pathways. The hydrogen market is about to re-energize after delays caused by regulatory uncertainty, and GeoFuels is uniquely positioned to competitively provide clean hydrogen and fuels such as e-Methanol at scale.
