Loop Chemicals is developing a novel chemical process that will disrupt existing fertilizer supply by enabling local production of ammonia from clean feedstocks and energy sources. Further benefits are reduced dependance on volatile overseas supply chain, and regeneration of rural economies. Ammonia is vital to world food production but today is supplied to consumers by a centrally operated, massive transportation model that is inefficient and highly carbon intensive. Loop Chemicals has licensed technology from Sandia Laboratories that will enable localized production of ammonia at competitive prices and near zero carbon footprint. This represents the foundation for domestic, clean ammonia manufacturing in the USA, improving global food security and supporting rural economies.
