[ 01 ]About

SolarMantle, a Chevron Studio portfolio company supported by NREL’s Innovation Entrepreneurship Center, is commercializing a state-of-the-art passive cooling thin film advanced material, bringing tremendous energy savings for the built environment. Our initial markets to bring energy efficiency and scalability include Datacenters, Buildings, and the Transportation infrastructure. High-Performance Passive Cooling SolarMantle’s nanoporous polymer film reflects over 96% of sunlight and emits more than 90% of heat in the infrared, enabling structures to cool passively below ambient temperatures—without consuming energy. Energy Savings Through Temperature Reduction By lowering surface temperatures by 15–20˚F, our material can cut air conditioning demand by up to 50%, offering a scalable path toward net-zero buildings and climate-adaptive infrastructure. Scalable and Cost-Effective Manufacturing Our film is produced using commodity materials and standard industrial processes, ensuring it can be scaled rapidly and affordably for broad market deployment.
